The Cannstatter Volksfest and the Stuttgarter Frühlingsfest (Spring Festival), are characterized by their family friendliness of which the large number of stalls and rides specifically for children is proof.
Family Day every Wednesday
The highly popular Family Days have long been a good tradition at the Volksfest. Every Wednesday, the fairground ride and stall owners, festival tent landlords and market traders offer concessions all through the day on many of their attractions. Parking in parking lot P10 also costs only 6 euros instead of 8 euros on the family days. There are also lots of surprises in store for younger visitors. Whether it is clowns, fairy tale carousel or a children’s railway for the little ones, there is lots to see and do for everybody at the Volksfest.
Children’s menus
Many stalls and the large festival tents offer special children’s portions.
Children’s rides
On many rides parents can accompany their children free of charge – the showmen are looking forward to welcoming you.
Baby care room
Baby care rooms are dotted around the festival site next to the free-of-charge toilets.
Lost children collection point
For many years now, the DRK (Deutsches Rotes Kreuz = german red cross) has been running a child collection point where lost children are cared for and can be collected by their families.
Exciting family entertainment
One of the special highlights for families is the Volksfest parade on the first Sunday of the festival when spectators lining the streets can marvel at the up to 3,600 participants, tractors, old craftsmen’s guilds and, above all, the wide variety of animals.
