Tips for wheelchair users
Visiting the Cannstatter Volksfest is also possible for wheelchair users without any problems. Directly on the festival grounds - in the immediate vicinity of the entrance gate - there is a parking lot for people with disabilities, from which you can access the festival grounds at ground level. Access to parking lot P10 is signposted and instructions will be given by the stewards. Parking is free of charge upon presentation of an ID card with the “G” sign.
If using public transport, the Cannstatter Wasen is also easily accessible for wheelchair users on the Volksfest line U11. There are also marked cab ranks in the immediate vicinity of the festival at the P10 parking lot and on "Daimlerstraße" and "Veielbrunnenweg".
Almost all festival streets and all alleyways at the Krämermarkt are asphalted and the entrances to all tents are equipped with wheelchair-accessible ramps. There are free, assisted toilets for people with disabilities in the festival tents and, of course, on the festival site. Festival hosts and snack bar operators are very helpful and remove beer benches on request so that wheelchair users can comfortably roll up to the tables.
In addition to the presence of the DRK, all landlords, showmen, market traders and security services are available to provide support at all times. Whether it's the Ferris wheel, wild water ride, Wild Mouse or other rides - every operator will make the ride of your choice possible so that you can enjoy the day on the fair.
